正面描述 Unadorned bust of King Hussein Ibn Talal facing left, depicted in civilian attire with a draped collar, rendered in moderate relief against a flat field. A continuous Arabic legend curves along both sides of the effigy, reading from upper right to lower left, identifying the monarch and his realm as the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. The portrait is naturalistic in style, with fine detail on facial features and clothing. No inner border or additional ornamental devices are present; the legend occupies the peripheral field immediately surrounding the bust.

附加信息

Jordan's one dinar coin was introduced in 1996 as part of a coinage reform that consolidated smaller fractional values and reduced the number of denominations in circulation. The brass composition was a deliberate cost-reduction measure by the Central Bank, replacing the bimetallic or cupro-nickel alternatives considered during the redesign process. Hussein bin Talal died in February 1999, making 1998 one of the final issues to carry his effigy before Abdullah II coinage superseded it within the year.
