| 表面の説明 | A vignette of a Black-naped Tern in flight occupies the left portion of the note, set against a fine guilloche underprint. The Singaporean coat of arms appears above the watermark space to the right, with the numeral "$1" positioned below it. Singapore's Board of Commissioners of Currency was a statutory body established at independence to manage note issuance separately from any commercial bank — an arrangement that persisted until the Monetary Authority of Singapore absorbed the function in 2002. By 1976, the BCCS had settled into Bradbury Wilkinson as its preferred printer, a relationship that produced most of the Orchid and Bird series notes through the late 1970s.
Bradbury Wilkinson's New Malden facility closed when the firm was absorbed into De La Rue in 1990, making all notes from this printer effectively period-bound.
