Obverse description Olive-green note printed on cream paper, with a portrait of Rajah Charles Vyner Brooke in military uniform at right against a fine guilloche underprint; a tropical landscape vignette with palm trees occupies the centre-left in intaglio. The issuing authority title appears within an ornate cartouche at the top, with the denomination ONE DOLLAR in bold letterpress at centre above the date 1st January 1935 and the payability inscription at Kuching. A manuscript signature of the Treasurer of Sarawak is at lower centre, flanked by serial numbers printed twice in red, with bilingual denomination inscriptions in Chinese and Jawi script at the lower margin.

Reverse description The olive-green reverse centres on a large circular vignette of the Sarawak state arms surrounded by radiating guilloche work, surmounted by the inscription THE GOVERNMENT OF SARAWAK. Two ornate oval medallions bearing the numeral 1 flank the central device at upper left and upper right, supported by elaborate torch-bearing pillar motifs in intaglio. Oval guilloche rosettes at lower left and lower right carry the bilingual denomination inscriptions ONE and SATU respectively.
