| Obverse description | The obverse displays the full Barbadian coat of arms at center, comprising a quartered shield supported by a dolphin to the left, symbolizing the fishing industry, and a pelican to the right, recalling the former Pelican Island. The shield is surmounted by a closed helmet with mantling, above which a crest depicts an arm and hand grasping two crossed stalks of sugar cane, emblematic of the island's sugar heritage. Two blossoms of the Pride of Barbados flank the shield, with the Bearded Fig tree rendered in the background. The Latin motto PRIDE AND INDUSTRY appears on a scroll at the base of the arms.
