| Reverse description | A left-facing bust of a Mayan king in high relief dominates the field, rendered in a style closely inspired by Classic Maya stone relief carving. The figure wears an elaborate ceremonial headdress composed of layered jade ornaments, zoomorphic elements, and a large fan of finely striated feathers extending to the upper right of the field. Intricate jade bead pectorals and collar adornments are depicted across the chest and neck. The legend MAYAN KING arcs along the upper left field, and the date 2002 appears in the lower exergue, both in raised Latin capital letters. |
