| 备注 |
Villa Venezia and Casanova Bar were nightclub and entertainment venues operating in Saarlouis, a French-administered Saar Protectorate town that only rejoined West Germany following the 1955 referendum and formal reintegration in 1957. This one-dollar token note belongs to a category of privately issued scrip used by clubs and bars — often in border or garrison towns — to manage tab credit, facilitate transactions with foreign currency-holding clientele, or simply circumvent local cash-handling regulations. American military personnel stationed in the region were the obvious target demographic for dollar-denominated scrip of this kind.
No central bank sanctioned it. Its legal status was, at best, ambiguous.
