| Obverse description | A full-rigged sailing vessel with billowing sails is depicted in the central field, rendered in fine relief and sailing to the right upon stylized waves. The circular legend ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ (Hellenic Republic) runs along the upper periphery. Below the ship, the denomination ΔΡΑΧΜΗ appears in bold Greek capitals, with the numeral 1 prominently displayed beneath it. The date 2000 is inscribed at the bottom of the field, flanking the numeral. The design is executed in a clean, classical style characteristic of late twentieth-century Greek coinage. |
