The circular legend ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΗ ΔΗΜΟΚΡΑΤΙΑ (Hellenic Republic) runs along the upper periphery. Below the ship, the denomination ΔΡΑΧΜΗ appears in bold Greek capitals, with the numeral 1 prominently displayed beneath it. The date 2000 is inscribed at the bottom of the field, flanking the numeral. The design is executed in a clean, classical style characteristic of late twentieth-century Greek coinage. |

Bouboulina) is inscribed vertically along the left field in Greek script. The engraver's initial K is visible in the lower right field.
