Europark Vias is a large holiday camping complex on the Hérault coast, and like several French vacation parks from the 1980s and 1990s, it issued its own brass token currency to keep spending on-site — a practice that also simplified accounting and discouraged guests from taking cash offsite. The "Ecu" denomination was a fashionable naming choice for French local tokens of that period, trading on nostalgia for the pre-Revolutionary currency rather than carrying any official monetary status.
