| Obverse description | The copper-nickel centre features conjoined busts of Prince Rainier III and his son and heir Prince Albert, both facing right in profile, rendered in high relief. The larger effigy of Rainier III is positioned to the left and slightly forward, with Albert's bust overlapping behind to the right. The legend MONACO arcs across the upper portion of the outer nickel brass ring, flanked by twelve five-pointed stars representing the European Union. The date appears at the bottom of the ring, with the mint mark positioned to the left of the date. |
