Obverse description Left-facing effigy of Marianne wearing a winged Phrygian cap, engraved in the Art Deco style by L. Bazor. The portrait is rendered in fine relief with stylised feathering on the cap. A harbour scene featuring four berthed vessels appears in the background field behind the effigy. The date appears in the lower exergue. The surrounding legend reads REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE and UNION FRANÇAISE, with the engraver's signature L.BAZOR and mintmark GB flanking the date.
