Obverse description Yellow-brown note with an allover geometric guilloche underprint in orange-brown tones forming a diamond lattice pattern across the entire field. The large bold numeral '1' appears as a central watermark-style underprint, overlaid by the primary text in black letterpress giving the note's title 'ZILVERBON' and denomination 'Groot ÉÉN GULDEN' in descending type sizes. The series number 'Serie 48' is printed in the upper right corner, with legal and redemption texts, date of 7 Augustus 1914, and two manuscript signatures of the Agent of the Ministry of Finance and the Minister of Finance occupying the lower portion of the note.

Counterfeiting or falsifying silver vouchers for the purpose of issuing or having them issued as genuine and unadulterated is punishable by up to nine years imprisonment.)
Reverse description The reverse is unprinted, showing plain cream-coloured paper with show-through of the obverse text and guilloche underprint visible in mirror image. Fold lines and minor toning are consistent with circulation use.
