Obverse description Central field features a balance scale suspended from a vertical staff, the beam horizontal with hanging pans visible on each side, symbolizing justice. The Arabic word for justice (عدل) appears in the central field, with the AH date 1258 inscribed below in large Arabic-Eastern numerals. The design is rendered in a bold, naive engraving style typical of provincial Hadhrami coinage of the period.

Reverse description Central device consists of two crossed arrows with decorative fletching, their shafts forming a saltire across the field. Above the crossed arrows, the mint name تريم (Tarim) is inscribed in Arabic script, accompanied by the AH date ١٢٥٨ (1258) below. Small decorative star-like elements appear in the upper field flanking the legend. The overall design reflects the simplified, locally-produced character of Hadhrami sultanate coinage.
