Bradbury Wilkinson printed this note during one of the more turbulent stretches of Laotian history — the 1962–1975 window spans the entire period of the Second Indochina War, the neutrality agreements that failed to hold, and the eventual abolition of the monarchy in December 1975. The Pathet Lao's victory that year ended the Banque Nationale du Laos as an institution, and any notes still in circulation were replaced by the Liberation Kip and later the new kip under the LPDR.

Bradbury Wilkinson's New Malden operation was the prestige choice for smaller Southeast Asian states during this period, handling security printing for numerous newly independent nations whose own infrastructure couldn't support intaglio work.
