Reverse description The central device features a large numeral '1' flanked by two symmetrical stylized leaf sprays, reminiscent of cannabis leaves, in a heraldic wing-like arrangement. Below the numeral, a snail in relief is prominently depicted at the center of the composition. The denomination legend 'LØN' appears in the lower field beneath the snail, and the border is decorated with a continuous denticulated inner rim pattern.

Additional information

Christiania's internal currency was revived around 2000 as part of the freetown's ongoing effort to maintain economic separation from the Danish state — a community that had been squatting a former military barracks in Copenhagen since 1971. The løn pieces circulated exclusively within Christiania's boundaries, accepted by the communal cannabis stalls on Pusher Street and a handful of internal vendors.

Danish authorities never recognized the currency, and its legal standing was perpetually ambiguous given Christiania's own unresolved status under Danish law.
