| Beschrijving voorzijde | Cast copper-alloy cash coin of traditional East Asian form, featuring a central square perforation surrounded by a raised square border. The four-character reign inscription 寛永通寶 (Kan'ei Tsūhō, meaning 'Currency of Kan'ei') is disposed in the four cardinal positions around the central hole, reading top-to-bottom and right-to-left: 寛 (top), 通 (right), 寶 (left), 永 (bottom), rendered in regular script (kaisho) with boldly cast strokes. The field is flat and plain, enclosed by a well-defined circular rim. The coin exhibits a dark brown patina consistent with age and circulation. |
