| 正面描述 | Central field features the soyombo symbol — the national emblem of Mongolia — rendered in relief, comprising the flame, sun, moon, and interlocking geometric elements characteristic of traditional Mongolian iconography. Two vertical columns flank the soyombo on either side, with the Mongolian traditional script legend arranged vertically along both the left and right fields, reading the country name 'People's Republic of Mongolia' and the regnal year '27' (corresponding to 1937 in the Mongolian calendar). The coin's border is formed by a continuous toothed or serrated inner ring. The overall design reflects the Soviet-influenced republican aesthetic combined with traditional Mongolian symbolism. |

Mongolia's 1937 coinage was struck under the Mongolian People's Republic at a time when the country functioned as a Soviet satellite state, with monetary and industrial policy dictated largely from Moscow. The möngö denominations of this period were produced with Soviet technical assistance, and the aluminium bronze composition mirrors contemporaneous Soviet small-denomination practice almost exactly.
KM#9 is the second type for this denomination, replacing the 1925 series after over a decade of circulation wear had rendered earlier pieces nearly illegible.
