| 背面描述 | The back carries a central vignette of young students engaged in open-air study, rendered in intaglio in brown tones against a light guilloche underprint, evoking the bush school tradition of the Eritrean independence struggle. A camel watermark vignette is positioned to the left, with the numeral '1' in each corner. The inscription 'BANK OF ERITREA' runs along the top margin and 'ONE NAKFA' along the bottom. |

| 备注 |
The 2015 dated reissue of the 1 Nakfa is the third time this denomination has appeared since the nakfa was introduced in 1997, replacing the Ethiopian birr at par as part of Eritrea's monetary separation from Ethiopia following independence. The nakfa itself was named after the town of Nakfa in the Sahel region — a stronghold during the three-decade war of independence and one of the few towns never captured by Ethiopian forces.
Giesecke & Devrient have printed the entire nakfa series since its inception. The security specification on this low denomination is minimal — watermark only, no security thread.
