| 裏面の説明 | Reverse field displays the name of Sultan Mahmud II (محمود) in bold Arabic script occupying the upper portion, with the regnal year number 24 (٢٤) below, indicating the 24th year of his reign. The strike is characteristically shallow and irregular, consistent with hammered provincial Ottoman coinage. The planchet edge is uneven and shows typical crenulated texture from the hammering process. |

By 1830, the Regency of Tripoli was in its final months as a semi-autonomous Ottoman vassal state. French forces had taken Algiers in July of that year, collapsing the neighboring regency and sending political shockwaves east along the North African coast. This small copper para — likely one of the last issues struck under the Tripolitan regency before direct Ottoman reassertion of control tightened administrative and monetary arrangements — was minted under Yusuf Karamanli, whose dynasty had ruled Tripoli since 1711 and would be formally deposed by the Ottomans in 1835.
