Reverse description The reverse displays a composite geometric device consisting of a square form enclosing a circle, struck in low relief on an irregular flan. The design appears to represent a stylized architectural or heraldic element, possibly a simplified depiction of a cross or building plan, as was common on contemporary Danish bracteate-influenced coinage. The relief is shallow and somewhat worn, consistent with circulation use and the limitations of hammered production. No legend or inscription accompanies the central device. The rough, porous surfaces of the flan are typical of debased silver pennings struck under Christopher II.
