Reverse description A bold voided cross with double lines extends to the inner circle, dividing the field into four quadrants, each containing a letter of the word CRVX. Small trefoil or cross-pommee ornaments are placed in the angles of the cross, a hallmark feature of the Crux type. The design is enclosed within a plain inner circle, with the moneyer and mint legend distributed around the outer border between pellets and cross stops, executed in a style closely related to contemporary English Crux pennies.
