Opmerkingen

Corral-Rubio is a small municipality in Albacete province, and this note is a product of the Spanish Civil War's near-total collapse of small-denomination coinage. From 1936 onward, Republican-controlled town councils across Spain were authorized — loosely — to issue their own emergency fractional currency as centimos and peseta coins vanished from circulation. The Consejo Municipal stepped into that vacuum.

Printed locally by Collado in Albacete rather than shipped in from a major center, the production quality reflects what a provincial lithographer could manage under wartime conditions. Collado handled a number of these municipal emissions across the Albacete region, making their imprint one of the more recognizable among Manchegan guerra civil issues.
