备注

Guils de Cantó is a small municipality in the Catalan Pyrenees, and like hundreds of other Spanish towns it issued its own emergency fractional currency during the Civil War after the Republican government's decree of 1937 authorized local bodies to print their own small-denomination notes to address the catastrophic coin shortage. The Consell Municipal — the locally elected council operating under Republican authority — printed these on card stock rather than standard banknote paper, which was simply unavailable at that scale of issue.

Turró catalogues these Catalan local issues exhaustively, and #1212 is among the more obscure entries. Survival rates for such wartime municipal issues are unpredictable — some towns printed very small quantities, others printed far more than local commerce ever absorbed.
