Opmerkingen

Llorenç d'Hortons is a small municipality in the Alt Penedès comarca of Catalonia, and like hundreds of other Catalan and Spanish towns, it issued its own emergency paper money — *moneda de necessitat* — during the Civil War after the Republican government's decree of June 1937 authorized local authorities to fill the acute shortage of small coinage. Imprenta Ribas in nearby Vilafranca del Penedès handled production for several such municipalities in the comarca, which is why notes from different issuing towns in the region occasionally share typographic characteristics.

The Turró catalogue remains the primary reference for this material; Turró#1365 places this note within a documented but sparsely surviving series.
