Los Navalmorales is a small municipality in Toledo province that, like hundreds of Spanish towns, issued its own emergency paper currency during the Civil War — small-denomination local notes that filled the void left by hoarded coins in 1936–1938. This 2003 piece is a commemorative replica, not an original wartime issue, produced by the Fábrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre to mark the memory of that local monetary improvisation.
The FNMT's involvement lends the replica a technical credibility rare in commemorative reproductions — the watermark is not decorative theater but a genuine security feature applied by the national printer.
