Opmerkingen

The Banco Internacional de Guatemala was one of several private Guatemalan banks of issue that lost their note-issuing privileges when the Caja Reguladora was established in 1919 as part of a broader monetary reform effort. Notes already in circulation were permitted to remain, which extended the practical lifespan of this series well past the initial printing — hence the spread of dates across the 1917–1923 range.

ABNC printed for dozens of Latin American private banks during this period, and the Guatemala Internacional account was a relatively minor one. The S-prefix Pick designation confirms private bank status, distinct from government or central bank emission.
