| Opmerkingen |
The Mindanao Emergency Currency Board was one of several provincial and municipal guerrilla currency authorities that issued emergency notes during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. These boards operated under varying degrees of official sanction from the Commonwealth government-in-exile, and the notes they produced circulated in territory still contested or nominally controlled by Filipino resistance forces. Mindanao's relative geographic isolation made sustaining a local exchange medium more practical there than on Luzon.
Florentino Saguin served as treasurer of the issuing authority — his signature here carries that administrative weight rather than a banking one. Genuine examples from this series are frequently found with foxing and humidity damage consistent with wartime tropical storage conditions.
