| Obverse description | The national coat of arms of Mexico occupies the central field, depicting a Mexican golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos) perched in profile upon a prickly pear cactus (nopal), its wings partially spread as it subdues a serpent in its beak and talons. The device is set above a decorative half-wreath composed of oak and laurel branches tied at the base with a ribbon. The encircling legend ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS arches along the upper periphery in raised Latin capitals. |
