A five-pointed star appears in the upper field above the head. The encircling legend REPUBLIQUE FRANCAISE runs along the periphery, with the engraver's signature BARRE F. inscribed in the lower exergue. A fine toothed border frames the entire design. |

The circular peripheral legend PRESSES MONETAIRES DU CHILI arcs around the upper and sides of the design, identifying this piece as a trial striking for the Chilean monetary presses.
