| 裏面の説明 | The reverse is printed in olive-green, centred on an intaglio vignette of a Neolithic megalithic dolmen — a Jersey passage grave — enclosed by a low drystone circular wall set within an open landscape, rendered in fine engraved detail. Below the vignette, the text "RENEWED NOTE" appears in bold serif capitals. A lightly shaded guilloche border frames the composition, with the remainder of the field left plain. |

The Vingtaines — Jersey's ancient parish subdivisions — issued emergency currency during the German Occupation of 1940–1945 when the island's normal supply chains were severed and small change became acutely scarce. St. Helier's Vingtaine was among the local administrative units authorized to produce these notes, which circulated purely out of necessity rather than any formal monetary infrastructure.
Cotton paper was specified to distinguish these issues from ordinary printed material, though production quality varied. The authorization derived from the Occupation's civilian administration, not the Crown — a legal ambiguity that was quietly set aside after Liberation.
