The Public Treasury of Nassau issued this pound note during a narrow two-year window before the Bahamas transitioned toward a more formalized colonial currency administration. Nassau's treasury notes of this period were produced in very limited quantities and are among the rarest survivors of British Caribbean fiscal paper, with fewer than a handful of authenticated examples known across all denominations in the series.
