Opmerkingen

Fiji's currency during the Pacific War was a genuine operational concern. Following the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, Allied authorities feared that Japanese forces advancing through the Pacific might capture and exploit local currency stocks — a threat taken seriously enough that contingency cancellation and replacement plans existed for several island territories. Fiji itself was never occupied, but the wartime signature dates on this series reflect the administrative churn of a colonial government functioning under active military pressure.

The five distinct date-signature combinations across this single Pick number make date attribution the primary variable for collectors. The January 1941 Robertson/Hayward/Banting pairing is the earliest and the hardest to find in any grade.
