The Jersey Agricultural Association was not a bank in any conventional sense — it was a farming cooperative that briefly entered the note-issuing business in the 1830s, a period when Jersey's monetary situation was chaotic enough that such an institution could plausibly do so. Trinity Bank was one of several short-lived parish-level issuers operating outside the framework of the larger St. Helier firms. Three manuscript signatures were required per note, reflecting the absence of any mechanized authentication process and the association's committee-governed structure.
Surviving examples are extremely rare. The issuer collapsed without leaving much documentary trace.
