| 正面描述 | A spoked wheel depicted in the center of the field, enclosed within a raised circular border. The wheel, serving as the principal type, features four spokes radiating from a central hub, rendered in a schematic, archaic Etruscan style. Three pellets, denoting the quadrans value mark, are distributed in the field around the wheel. The casting is irregular, consistent with Etruscan aes grave production of the mid-third century BC. |

The fractional bronze series to which this piece belongs was produced by one of several Etruscan communities during the final decades before Rome's consolidation of northern Italy — a period when local minting authority was rapidly contracting. Etruscan bronze coinage of this weight class draws on the Roman libral standard but retains distinctly regional iconographic conventions, reflecting a monetary culture that resisted full absorption even as political independence slipped away.
Attribution to a specific mint remains unresolved. The references cluster around a handful of possible issuing centers in northern Etruria, none confirmed by archaeological die-find evidence.
