| Obverse description | Central device features a radiant sun rising over three volcanic mountains set within a triangular landscape, rendered in a primitive but characterful style characteristic of the Tegucigalpa mint's crude die work. The mountains, representing the five provinces of the Federal Republic, are contained within an oval cartouche framed by radiating sunbeams that fill the upper field. The circumferential legend REPUBLICA DEL CENTRO DE AMER runs along the outer border, with the date appearing at the base of the design. The planchet is noticeably irregular in shape and flatness, consistent with the crude minting practices of the Casa Nacional de la Moneda at Tegucigalpa during this period. |
