| Beschrijving keerzijde | Reverse of the Spanish colonial host coin, displaying the crowned royal arms of Castile and León at center, flanked by the Pillars of Hercules with abbreviated legends to either side. The crowned shield bears the quartered castles and lions of the Spanish monarchy. A circular hole has been cut through the lower portion of the flan, consistent with the Costa Rican emergency coinage preparation process. The legends, though partially worn and interrupted by the piercing, retain legible fragments identifying the mint, denomination, and assayer initials. |
