| Reverse description | The large numeral '1' dominates the upper central field, with the word 'RUFIYAA' inscribed below it in Latin characters. The circular legend 'REPUBLIC OF MALDIVES' runs along the upper periphery. In the lower portion of the field, two rope ends extend from either side and meet at the bottom centre, tied into a reef knot, a traditional Maldivian nautical motif. The mint mark 'M.M.A.' appears in the exergue below the knot, and the denomination in Thaana script is present as part of the reverse legend. |
