Obverse description Central field features the crescent and star device facing left, positioned above the Tughra inscription 'حکومتِ پاکستان' (Hukumat-e-Pakistan / Government of Pakistan) in Nastaliq calligraphy. The date 1969 appears to the right of the Tughra. Along the upper arc, a Quranic verse from Surah Al-Hujurat reads 'إن المؤمنون إخوة' (Verily, the believers are brothers). Flanking the central device, the Bengali legend 'পাকিস্তান' (Pakistan) curves clockwise on the left and 'সরকার' (Sarkar / Government) curves clockwise on the right.
