Opmerkingen

The 1940 Mauritius 1 Rupee was issued under wartime emergency conditions, part of a broader effort across British colonial territories to maintain currency supply as global shipping and trade routes came under severe disruption. Thomas De La Rue printed this series in London throughout the conflict, though getting notes safely to the island was itself a logistical problem the Colonial Office had to manage carefully.

Pick 26 is reasonably available, but examples with sharp corners are harder to find than the census suggests — heavy tropical circulation took a predictable toll on the paper.
