Obverse description Central field displays the date in two-digit form within a beaded inner circle, surmounted by a small cross above the numerals. A crowned lion passant, the arms of Sweden, occupies the upper portion of the inner circle. The surrounding circular legend in Latin reads ERIC · XIIII · D · G · R · followed by abbreviated regal titles, separated by pellet stops. The coin is struck on an irregular flan typical of hammered billon coinage of the period, with the legend partially weak at the margins due to the striking technique.
