| Reverse description | Central field features a large ornate crown of late medieval form, rendered with considerable detail, occupying most of the inner circle defined by a beaded border. The legend MO · NOVA · REVAL · in Latin capital letters runs around the periphery, separated by pellet stops, identifying this as the new coinage of Reval. The flan is irregularly shaped and the strike is characteristic of mid-sixteenth century hammered municipal coinage, with areas of weakness at the edges. The overall style reflects the influence of Baltic civic minting conventions of the period. |
