| 背面描述 | The reverse features a finely detailed high-relief depiction of two American crocodiles (Crocodylus acutus), the principal subject shown in a dorsal three-quarter view with pronounced scale texture occupying the central and left fields, while a second crocodile is rendered in profile with open jaws in the lower right field against a striated background. The legend COCODRILO DE TUMBES arcs across the upper field, with the binomial scientific name Crocodylus acutus inscribed vertically along the left margin. The denomination numeral 1 appears at lower center above a recessed panel bearing the inscription SOL, with the Lima mint mark (LIMA monogram) positioned in the upper right field and the Banco Central de Reserva circular security logo at lower left. |

Part of Peru's "Riqueza y Orgullo del Perú" circulation commemorative program, which began in 2010 and systematically rotated regional flora, fauna, and cultural heritage across the standard one-sol coin. The American crocodile population centered around the Tumbes region represents one of the southernmost viable populations on the Pacific coast of South America, and its inclusion in the series reflected ongoing conservation pressure — the species has been protected under Peruvian law since the 1970s.
