The shield is presented without additional external ornament, occupying the centre of the flan. A continuous circular legend in Latin script surrounds the device, reading MO · NO · CIVIT : REVAL ·, identifying this as the municipal coinage of Reval. The design follows the conventional format of 17th-century Livonian civic solidus types, faithfully reproduced in this later novodel restrike. |
