Obverse description Portuguese royal crown displayed centrally within the field, rendered in a crude hammered style typical of early colonial coinage. The initials D and T appear flanking the crown in the left and right portions of the field respectively. The coin exhibits an irregular flan with a beaded border encircling the design.

Reverse description Bold royal monogram composed of the letters A and T conjoined, centrally positioned in the field.
