| Beschrijving voorzijde | The entire field is occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend in bold Naskh script, struck in high relief on an irregular flan. The inscription reads 'duriba al-dirham al-shar'i fi zaman al-'abd muhammad bin tughluq', meaning 'the legal dirham was struck in the time of the servant Muhammad bin Tughluq'. The script fills the flan from edge to edge with no border, consistent with the hurried production characteristic of token currency issues of this reign. |
