| Reverse description | The central vignette comprises a circular medallion enclosing an elaborate traditional Kyrgyz national ornament centred on the tündük — the crown of the yurt — rendered in orange and dark brown, surrounded by stylised scrollwork and foliate motifs. КЫРГЫЗ РЕСПУБЛИКАСЫ inscribes the upper arc within the medallion border, with БИР ТЫЙЫН at the foot, all set against a pink and cream guilloche background with matching lateral ornamental devices. |

The tyiyn — one-hundredth of a som — was introduced when Kyrgyzstan left the ruble zone in May 1993, adopting its own currency just eighteen months after independence. The 1 tyiyn was the smallest denomination in that inaugural series, and given the inflation trajectory of the early 1990s, it became effectively worthless within a short period of actual use. De La Rue handled the full first series, a common arrangement for newly independent states that lacked domestic printing infrastructure.
The watermark is the sole security feature — modest even by 1993 standards for a TDLR production.
