Thái Hoá was the reign title of Lê Thánh Tông, whose rule from 1460 to 1497 marked the administrative and cultural peak of the Later Lê dynasty. Cash coins issued under this reign circulated so persistently that unofficial copies — cast in zinc rather than the standard copper-lead alloy — continued to be produced long after the reign itself ended, filling chronic shortages of small denomination coinage in village economies where imperial supply never kept pace with demand.
