背面描述	Printed in blue on plain paper. The entire face of the reverse is occupied by a large central guilloche medallion of fine lathe-work, surmounted by a stylised chrysanthemum crest at the top. Flanking the medallion are symmetrical acanthus-scroll ornaments. The Bank of Japan title in kanji (日本銀行券) appears within the upper portion of the medallion, with the Chinese-character denomination 壹圓 at centre and the Arabic numeral "1" at each side; the legend "1YEN" is set in the lower portion of the guilloche.

备注	This note was part of Japan's postwar emergency currency program, issued under Allied occupation oversight while the existing monetary system was being dismantled and restructured. The Bank of Japan had lost effective independence; GHQ's Economic and Scientific Section exercised final authority over monetary policy during this period, making the issuing authority's name on the note something of a formality. The Government Printing Bureau had survived the war intact enough to resume production quickly, but paper quality during 1946 was inconsistent — a known characteristic of this series, and a factor collectors should examine closely.
