| Opmerkingen |
Guinea's central bank introduced this denomination as part of a broader redenomination effort following decades of severe inflation that had rendered smaller notes nearly worthless in daily commerce. The Guinean franc had lost so much purchasing power that 10,000 francs — once a significant sum — had by the 2010s become a routine transaction amount at markets in Conakry.
P#49A is printed on cotton substrate with a embedded security thread and holographic strip, consistent with the upgraded security package introduced across the series from 2018 onward. The watermark placement on this issue has been noted by dealers as occasionally weak on earlier-dated examples within the range.
