Reverse description The central vignette presents a detailed intaglio view of the Saparmyrat Hajy Metjidi mosque, with its large central dome and four flanking minarets, above the inscription SAPARMYRAT HAJY METJIDI. To the left, the circular state emblem of Turkmenistan is rendered in fine line engraving, and traditional carpet-pattern guilloche borders frame the entire composition. Denomination value ON MÜN MANAT is set in large letterpress at the foot of the note, with numeral 10000 repeated in corner cartouches.

Turkmenistan's 1998 high-denomination notes were issued during a period of severe monetary instability following independence, when chronic inflation had rendered smaller denominations effectively worthless for any transaction of consequence. The 10,000 Manat was among the largest face values in the first-generation manat series before the 2009 redenomination wiped out three zeros and replaced the entire currency with the second manat at a rate of 5,000 old manat to one new.

Security was minimal for a note of this value — a single watermark, no metallic thread, no UV-reactive inks recorded for this issue.
